The Financial Planning Officer is responsible for the budgeting, reporting and tax functions. The candidate will provide support in ensuring that the preparation of the monthly management accounts is accurate, submitted timely and reflects the performance of the business. In addition, the candidate will be responsible for completion and submitting other financial reports required to assist the business.
WHAT WILL YOU BE RESPONSIBLE FOR?
- Ensure daily and weekly reports (Weekly Regional Summary Report, Weekly Trading Report, Cash Flow etc.) are accurately prepared and submitted on time.
- Provide appropriate analytical support to functional management to improve business performance and effectiveness.
- Proactively provide analysis of business trends to support strategic initiatives and direction.
- Have a full understanding of the accounting interfaces, lead investigations into any discrepancies, and suggest solutions to eliminate non-reoccurrence.
- Assist with the budgeting process ensuring the accuracy of the numbers as it relates to phasing, application of appropriate assumptions, changes to the economy, changes to plans (including Marketing) and the company’s business strategy.
- Undertake reviews at least once per year of the financial records and transactions to Liaise with tax advisors regarding any new development or legislation regarding taxes and ensure compliance with necessary GCT & Corporate Tax treatment.
- Provide support to the Director of Finance and Financial Accountants as directed.
REQUIRED SKILLS & EXPERIENCE
- CPA, ACCA or Masters Degree in banking, Finance or related area.
- Minimum five (5) years’ progressive accounting experience including budget and taxation.
- Advance proficiency in Microsoft Excel and Database Management.
- Excellent analytical and presentation skills.
- Detail oriented.
- Ability to work independently and on own initiative.
